2 Day Machu Picchu tour from Cusco is one of our signature tours. Accompanied by a local English speaking tour guide, you will get a deeper insight to the life and culture of Incas.
We offer train tickets on the expedition train. If you wish to travel by vistadome train which offers a panoramic view, do let us know as it requires booking months in advance.
We will be picking you up early in the morning from your hotel in Cusco. Then in our private transport, we will be driving you through the Sacred Valley of Incas to Ollantaytambo. Here you will be boarding the train to Aguas Calientes.
The train journey is picturesque. You will be travelling along the course of the Urubamba river. On this three hours train ride, you will be witnessing the dramatic change in landscape as you will be reaching the Cloud forest from the Andes.
On reaching Aguas Calientes, we will escort you to your three star hotel. In the evening, you can visit the hot springs here.
Later that evening, our local guide will be visiting you at the hotel and will be briefing you on the following day’s itinerary.
Quite early in the morning, you will be boarding the bus from Aguas Calientes to the Inca citadel. It is a 25 minutes journey up the hill. On reaching the entrance of Machu Picchu, our guide will be meeting you and will assist you in clearing the control and entering the citadel.
Here we will give you a two hours guided tour of Machu Picchu citadel. After the tour, you will have some free time to walk around the citadel. If you have booked in advance to hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu mountain, our guide will be directing you to the respective entrance.
Alternatively, you can hike to the Sungate. It is free and takes 2 hours to hike back and forth from the citadel. Those on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu enter the citadel through the Sungate. It offers a spectacular view of the citadel.
After exploring Machu Picchu, you will be taking a bus back down to Aguas Calientes. Here you will be boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo.
Once in Ollantaytambo, our representative will be meeting you and will be driving you back to your hotel in Cusco.
